Our strategy started with the name.
We identified a short, memorable acronym and domain name: LDRX.com. The Horizon team loved it!
We crafted logo design concepts to resonate with their target audience: a brand that was clean, iconic, and authoritative. Using modern, technical fonts with open characters, we created a fresh, approachable feel. We used color psychology to communicate the brand as well. The blue conveys permanence and authority, reticent of military uniform, and the orange, complementary to the blue, represents vibrant growth and learning.
The new brand aligns with the tone we targeted during Discovery:
bold, modern, and connective.
We collaborated closely with the Horizon team during Discovery and Research, and created a Sitemap and Wireframes that provide an intuitive backbone of the User Interface (UI) — one that would compel members to learn, check-in, and collaborate. Our team brought the bones to life via pixel-perfect design prototypes for both desktop and mobile. The web design and User Experience (UX) included, mobile content curation, dynamic messaging based on the user logged in, and options for users to customize their own dashboard views.
Starting with clean, secure code, we built a stable foundation that utilized the pre-existing features of the WordPress framework. This allowed us to avoid recreating the wheelunnecessarily for basic CMS features and keep the cost down for our client.
Additionally, our approach enabled us to build custom integrations around client’s online learning platform: LearnDash LMS. We leveraged the powerful tools of LearnDash while creating a bespoke, seamless experience for LDRX members.
Similar to the continued education platform, we used custom integration to include a prebuilt extension for the Community Forums module as well. And finally, the Resources System was a ground-up custom build that included types, functions, and tags all with Live Filtering.
All of these modules shared data, shared member allowance tags, and were able to be searched globally. This created a smooth, holistic experience for members, and it kept the Horizon team in control of the content and access for their new system.
The all-new Leader Exchange brand and platform came together beautifully and has worked wonderfully for users! The new brand is concise, modern, and iconic. The final UX and UI successfully encourage members to participate in courses, post and reply to forum topics, as well as find resources. Each user is presented with choices and special allowances based on their specific classification and interest groups.
Our custom approach on web development saved the client tens of thousands in up-front costs compared to a stand-alone web application build, while our unique integrations made data connections that would not be possible otherwise. The specially built user tag system allowed our client to curate what classes, topics, and resources members can see based on certain interest groups. For example: The Horizon team have the ability to curate what their Military members see to only show military-related classes, forum topics, and resources. While Sports members see sports-related content.
Chariot has been a wonderful company to work with and we are more than pleased with what they delivered. During the proposal process they provided a clear plan at a reasonable price point. Throughout the project they were very responsive to any recommendations or requests that we made. They were professional and stuck to the project timeline. They provided a weekly status report and when we changed the scope they provided a fair cost estimate that required our approval. We definitely got our money’s worth on this project!
