Online auction software provider Simple Auction Site, a client of ours for 9 years, utilized our team for their own marketing as well as providing all of their auction web design services, web development, print design, e-newsletters, and other auction company marketing materials for their clients. This has entailed a lot of working within the boxes of existing brands and to build websites that integrated their software for scores of online auction houses, many that are highly reputable and sell items worth millions. No pressure!
The web development aspect of all this was the most intensive, as working around the software had to be handled carefully.
When they wanted their own website redesign and branding facelift, we understood the demographic and business model of the Durham, NC company. We were able to quickly formulate a plan. With simplicity being at the forefront of their messaging, we used a clean, non-compartmentalized layout to convey a modern appearance. The goal was to engage the younger side of their professional, mostly male, audience while holding the attention of the more-seasoned entrepreneurs, collectors, and customers. We kept the tone approachable by using simple graphic icons and more informal verbal queues such as “you” and “your” to speak directly to the reader.
In essence, we needed to crack the mold, not shatter it. The end result is a straight-forward, mobile-responsive experience that distinctly conveys what they offer – simple. auction. sites. This was all followed by corresponding trade show materials.
Among the auction houses we’ve had the privilege of working with are:
Goldin Auctions – Auctioneer of the record-shattering T206 Jumbo Honus Wagner
Grey Flannel Auctions – They had their own reality show “All Star Dealers” on the Discovery Channel
Morphy Auctions
